Could This Be The End Of The Road For Kotoko In The CAFCC?
Kumasi Asante Kotoko have their fate in their own hands after drawing 1-1 with Al Hilal on Sunday evening in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Kotoko have to win the last match away at Zambia with Zesco United to ensure their qualification.
The big question to ask is can Kotoko win away from home in the CAF Confederation Cup?
Kotoko have won only a match away in the Confederation Cup this season. That was the match against Cotonspot in Cameroon.
In their first away game against Kariobangi Sharks of Kenya, Kotoko drew goalless. After which they traveled to Cotonspot and won 3-2.
Moving on, Kotoko journeyed to Sudan to face Al Hilal and lost by a lone goal.
Kotoko however redeemed themselves with a 2-1 win over Zesco United at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Furthermore, Kotoko again lost to Nkana fc of Zambia by 3-1 and won the second leg 3-0.
This is to say that Kumasi Asante Kotoko are not good travelers in the Confederation Cup this season.
Nevertheless, all hope is not lost yet. A comfortable win against Zesco United at Zambia could do the magic but how possible is it?
As the table stands, Nkana Fc is leading with 9points, followed by Al Hilal with 8points after drawing with Kotoko, Kotoko has 7points and Zesco United languishing at the bottom with 4points.
A win for Kotoko could take them to 10points whilst we pray for Al Hilal to beat Nkana Fc.
But if both teams draw and Kotoko wins, then Nkana and Kotoko will qualify out of the group.
A draw will not favor Kumasi Asante Kotoko as they will be eliminated form the competition.
