Esperance Turned around 1:3 Loss In The CAF Champions League First Leg To Win The Trophy.

Esperance De Tunis have turned around a three goals deficit to win the CAF Champions league by four goals to three on aggregate on Friday night.

The Tunisia based club lost the first leg that was played in Egypt.  Al Ahly won the first leg  3:1thanks to two controversial penalties that was awarded them by the referee.

However, the first leg results did not kill the dream of Esperance of becoming the African Champions as they cruised to a 3:0 win in Tunisia to claim the prestigious trophy.

Esperance took the lead at dying moments of first half thanks to a Bguir goal in the 45th minute of the game.

Bguir again posed the goal keeper of Ahly and sent in a free header into the right corner of the post to make the aggregate 3:3.

Just as Al Ahly wanted to ginger their muscles and attack Esperance, alone effort from Badri makes it 3:0 for the home team leaving the away team to wander on the pitch. Badri is the top scorer in the Champions league with 8goals to his name.

This is the third time Al Ahly have lost the CAF Champions league final in a row.

This is the third time Esperance De Tunis have won the trophy. They have won it in 1994, 2011 and 2018.

They are also they winners of African Cup Winners Cup on one occasion in 1998. Esperance have also won the CAF Super Cup once in 1995.
